STEP 1

Remove the OEM shift knob by applying swift upward pressure. Ensure the OEM spring remains inside the reverse lockout body.

STEP 2

Align the inner keyway of the threaded insert with the outer keyway of the white plastic shifter cap. Using your palm, apply downwards pressure to the threaded insert until you feel it lock in place. The threaded insert should be tight and without play once it is seated correctly.

STEP 3

Install the collar onto the threaded insert ensuring the hollow section is facing down. Install the collar as low as possible while ensuring that the reverse lockout can still be raised to engage reverse. If there is any difficulty in raising the reverse lockout to select reverse, the collar is too low and needs to be set higher on the shifter assembly. Once the collar is set in the correct position, do not move it.

STEP 4

Install the thread adapter onto the threaded insert until it touches the collar. Grip the collar in your hand and use a 17mm wrench to tighten the thread adapter against it.

- Do not use an Allen/hex key to tighten the thread adapter using the set screw. The set screw is installed using a thread-locking compound. If this compound is disturbed with excessive force, it will not function as intended.

STEP 5

Thread the shifter onto the adapter until it reaches the end of the threads. If the logo on the shifter is facing your preferred direction, securely tighten the shifter by hand and enjoy!

- If the logo on the shifter is not facing your preferred direction, proceed to Step 6.

STEP 6

If the logo on the shifter is not facing your preferred direction, take note of the number of degrees that the logo is off from the desired position. Remove the shifter and unscrew the set screw by the matching amount of degrees. Reinstall the shifter to check the logo alignment and repeat the adjustments if necessary.

- For example: if the logo is facing 9 o’clock and you require it to face 6 o’clock, unscrew the set screw by 90 degrees.
